Global Leader in Procurement and Engineering Project Delivery
ABM Hamid Rahman is a distinguished procurement and supply-chain executive with over two decades of international experience leading engineering, R&D, and technology-led programmes across the aerospace, automotive, Atomic Fusion energy, and public sectors. Trained in the United Kingdom and certified in MCIPS, CPSM, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from the University of Oxford, Hamid excels at blending commercial strategy with process optimisation, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary leadership.
Career Built Across the World’s Most Respected Engineering Organisations
Hamid has held senior roles with some of the most influential engineering and technology firms, including Rolls-Royce, Dyson Automotive, Jaguar Land Rover, B/E Aerospace (later Rockwell Collins / UTC Aerospace), and leading UK public bodies such as the Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) and NHS England.
His work spans advanced manufacturing procurement, strategic sourcing, and high-value contract execution for mission-critical, technically demanding environments.
Driving Procurement Excellence Across Global Engineering Programmes
Among his major achievements, Hamid has:
Public-Sector Leadership and Innovation for National Programmes
Hamid’s expertise extends beyond industry.
At NHS England, he led over 90 procurement projects with a total spend exceeding £112 million, achieving £11.4 million in verified savings through digital transformation (EPR project) and category-strategy execution.
His work ensured transparency, compliance, and long-term value creation across public-sector supply operations — evidence of his ability to apply corporate best practice to national institutions. He championed teams applying Oxford Six Sigma practices to streamline operations, strengthen quality control, and drive efficiency improvements.
Shaping the Future of Robotics, Nuclear R&D, and Energy Innovation
At the UK Atomic Energy Authority, Hamid plays a pivotal role in the Robotics, Repurposing & Decommissioning (RRD) directorate — home to the Remote Applications in Challenging Environments (RACE) innovation hub. There, he has provided commercial and strategic leadership to transform cutting-edge research into viable, value-driven programmes supporting the UK’s fusion-energy and Net Zero objectives. He has been instrumental in commercialising robotic applications developed for hazardous and extreme environments, enabling breakthroughs in the Joint European Torus (JET), Joint Decommissioning and Repurposing (JDR), and Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production (STEP) programmes. Though not an engineer by Education & training, Hamid has led multi-disciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and programme managers — aligning technical ambition with commercial strategy, contract governance, and market engagement to ensure sustainable success.
Leadership for Innovation, Partnership, and Future Energy
Building on this foundation, Hamid now serves as Lead Advisor for Engineering Projects at EngTech, guiding large-scale industry collaborations that connect education with frontier research. He draws on his legacy across Rolls-Royce, Dyson, Jaguar Land Rover, Airbus, and UKAEA to shape programmes that blend procurement discipline, technical vision, and entrepreneurial innovation. Under his advisory leadership, EngTech is developing pathways that expose students to real-world R&D, robotics applications, and aerospace-energy synergies — empowering future engineers to think globally and act ethically.
A Vision Anchored in Collaboration and Impact
Hamid Rahman’s vision is rooted in the belief that true progress emerges when commercial strategy and technical innovation work in harmony. He continues to champion programmes that inspire future engineers to push boundaries — from sustainable energy systems to advanced robotics and fusion technologies — building a bridge between education, research, and industry for the next era of global engineering.
